build a quilt workshop: cascade

the first set of build a quilt workshop classes went over really well.
so well, in fact, that i've been gearing up & making plans for a new class.
:)

in case you missed out on the first classes, here's a little refresher. . .
the idea is to host online workshops in a quilt along style atmosphere.
we'll be using a private flickr group as our platform.
and everyone loves taking classes with their friends, right?!?!

class will start mid january.
once your class fee is paid, you'll be invited to join our private flickr group.
and that's when the fun starts.
{providing we all like this concept, more classes will be added.}


cascade class-
in this class we will build a modern patchwork quilt.
this class is perfect for beginners through advanced quilters.

it just so happened that my hair matched the alamo door perfectly.
note to self: next time i go to the salon and tell them my hair color...
refer to it as "the alamo door" just to see the response i get.

general consensus: i had such a blast.
these pics only touch base on a little bit of my trip.
i was SO caught up with classes & being a tourist that i didn't quite take as many pics as i wanted.
{and i seem to be missing pics from the coin collecting class i taught. boo.}

oh & i'm pretty sure that i stimulated the economy more than i'll ever, ever admit.
especially in the local quilt shops.
a big hey yall to sew special quilts, memories by the yard & quilt haus. <--yall rocked my socks off.

i have more to tell, but i'll share more later.

two weeks from today...

two weeks from today i'll be on a plane to texas.
two weeks from today i'll be away from lindsey for the first time since birth.
two weeks from today i'll cry like a baby in the airport bathroom.
two weeks from today i'll just be rachel, not mommy, to everyone i'm around.
two weeks from today i'll call home a million times.
two weeks from today i'll have to just let go.

because in two weeks from today...
i'm teaching folks how to make my quilts.

i heart table runners.

i heart my vintage ribbons table runner.
it lives in our bedroom on our dresser.
my goal is to have a french general themed bedroom.
doesn't that sounds delish???

i faintly hear our new baby's room calling for it.

it's currently living at birds of feather.
rumor has it that i'll be teaching this table runner as a class.
pretty dang exciting huh???

oh and i'm currently baking up a new goodie for the moda bake shop.
it just might be another table runner.
