build a quilt workshop.

so build a quilt workshop...
it's something i've been contemplating for a long, long time.

the idea is to host online workshops in a quilt along style atmosphere.
we'll be using a private flickr group as our platform.
and everyone loves taking classes with their friends, right?!?!

classes will start mid october.
once your class fee is paid, you'll be invited to join our private flickr group.
and that's when the fun starts.
{providing we all like this concept, more classes will be added.}

baqw

the basics class-
in this class we will build a simplistic patchwork quilt, start to finish, using all the basics.
this class is perfect for beginners.
pay the basics class fee HERE.
limited spots available.

baqw

facade class-
in this class we will build a modern patchwork quilt.
this class is perfect for confident beginners through advanced quilters.

good fortune - final
*facade quilt we will be building*

pay the facade class fee HERE.
limited spots available.

paid class members will recieve a 20% discount via fat quarter shop towards their next purchase. {code will given via flickr group.}

so who's ready to build some quilts?!?!
:D

The facade class picture doesn't seem to be working. I just see something that says "This photo is currently unavailable", fyi.

I think this sounds like a superb idea!!

Hi Rachel, I just paid my fee and look forward to starting. Will you be offering any discounts on fabric?

Ack! I wish I had known about this a week ago. I just started your Off the Rails quilt, and I have two other quilt projects lined up. I hope you do another class like this starting around the new year.
I wish I could do this...

I actually meant your half square triangles... not off the rail... I never claimed to be smart...

hi,
If I join, do I have to be able to keep up with the pace :( or will the instructions be available for those of us who are "slower" or not always available to quilt.

rachel griffith said...

the instructions will be there for you to work at your pace :D

Oh! I'd really like to do this but not sure that oct will work for me since I'm on vacation for a week & working away at holiday gifts. I hope you'll do this again after the holidays.

rachel griffith said...

the workshop will stay posted within that flickr group so that you can work at your own pace.

so if you wanted to do the class, but couldn't work on it until january, you'd be able to just go back through and work on it.

just an fyi.

Great idea...what is the finished size of the facade quilt. Thanks for your time.

i'm going to be showing 3 different finishing options for the facade quilt.

they all range in the twin size area.

Oh no! I just saw the 20% off coupon upon entering update, but I ordered my layer cake and yardage last night! (from the fatquartershop) How long is the coupon good for? I already paid for my order, or do you think they might change it? Ah! I was too excited last night :(

I'm thinking about joining... This would be my first quilt-a-long! I want to make my in-laws a quilt for Christmas and this might just be perfect :)

Do you have the finished dimensions on the basic quilt? Also, do you have a more specific idea of when you're starting that class? I'll be out of town until the 16th. I'd love to take the class but don't want to miss the first classes.

have you got an increasingly distinct thought of while you are starting up this group? I shall be on vacation prior to 16th. I would adore to go ahead and take training nevertheless do not want to lose the primary lessons.
