Where in the world? It's not all that extravagant, but I'd love to go to Alaska. I've seen so many beautiful pictures from there that I'd like to see it for myself. In fact, if my dh would agree to go with me I'd like to stay for a year to experience the full effect of the seasons and it being light or dark most of the day.

Ruth B said...

This is an easy one! I would go to Australia and visit their wonderful quilt shops and meet some of their awesome designers. I'd also see the beauty of the country but the quilters would make it a trip to remember!

I know this sounds weird, but I would go to Utah. We live in Southern California and I've driven through many times, but for some reason, I really want to go and stay for awhile. I've traveled to other lands...Europe, Australia, but I want to go to Utah. :)

Cheri C. said...

I would go to HI and stay at least a month. I have had a short trip there before and thought, "this is HI??". I expected more BUT in my short time there I found the people the most sincere and happy people. They work non-stop and have a smile doing it!! They treat you with so much love. The land is also AMAZING from desert to beach to mountaintops - all in a very small space. I love the USA and am thrilled to have HI a part of it!!! Let's go!!!

I've always wanted to go to Scandinavia... my sister's been and she said it was one of the best times she ever spent overseas :)

Hello!
First congrats on the quilt, yay you!

Where in the world would I go? I've promised my girls a trip to Italy before they graduate from high school. We live in a remote northern area and going someplace where people have walked for thousands of years, where millions of hands have touched and breathed the air...it's amazing. That's our dream and where I'd go (with my girls!)

hmmm. i'm thinking dubai. just cause it's the new hip place:) and i believe that fabric is from hobby lobby isn't it? i think that's where i got mine. thanks for the giveaway!

I would love to go to Bali. Since I was a child, I've loved the exotic look of it. And now, I know that you can buy wonderful fabrics there too!

:)

Jo (sparkly green knickers) said...

All expenses, you say? Well, with empty suitcases in tow (to fill with fabric etc), I'd hit Japan, Scandinavia and the US for all the fabric stores, with some stop overs at some crafty classes hosted by favourite fabric designers/crafters/quilters along the way.

Congratulations! You definitely deserve that win!

If I could go anywhere, I would go to a place that I've been before, Denali National Park, Alaska. The summer after my husband and I met he went to Alaska to do his internship for school. He would be gone 8 months, and we'd only been dating about 6 when he left. I of course was sad when he left but planned a trip to visit him for 5 days at the beginning of the summer. I got to Alaska, fell in love with it and stayed for 6 weeks. My husband and I had such great times there, trying new food (like Reindeer Ruban Sandwiches) and enjoying the outdoors. I want to go back because I have such wonderful memories that I would love to re-live. So much of our relationship grew in that time. Maybe that's why I love Alaska so much. =)

I think that given my new opsession with quilting and fabric I would have to go to the USA and visit all those wonderful quilting shops and drool over all that wonderful fabric!

I would go to Hawaii. I grew up in Florida and love the beaches. I want to visit the lava rocks and drive around the island looking for waterfalls. I haven't had a really vacation in many many years.

Congratulations on the Irish Quilting win. Your design was definitely the best!

All expenses paid? I'm going to have to say Italy. We've been before but I want to take my daughter this time (she's only 2 now so we've got time to plan). We love everything about Italy - the food, the people, the cities, the countryside, the wine, the food, the wine,...did I mention the food and wine?

CJ said...

Congratulations on your win! I have no idea who makes that great dot fabric, sorry. All expenses paid??? Hmmmmmmm, how about France and Italy.

lisa said...

my adobe readers having issues, but I am still entering =) I dont know who makes that fabric but it looks just like the recieving blanket (in flannel) from Target someone gave my daughter

as for a trip....I've been a lot of places already but if it's just for me, ireland...in the warm season or better yet the caribian on a long warm cruise, lots of drinks...ahhh that'd be nice especially during the cold winters in MT...now if I could take my girls (and they were 10-15 years older than they are now) I'd love to take them to france. Not just paris but that's be a major stopping point, I think I want to see the wine country and the sea over there...maybe make a stop in germany or spain, just experience it with them!! my plan is actually to take each of the girls to a location of their choice (hopefully france? heck even just europe) when they are old enough but it won't be all expenses paid for me, for them maybe =)

I've always wanted to go to Australia and Bali. I'd sign up for a quilting class in Australia and shop till I drop. Then in Bali I'd like to take a tour to the factories and see how they dye the beautiful batik fabrics. I've seen it on a video, but there's nothing like seeing it in person. Of course I'd have to buy some beautiful batiks to add to my collection.
Thanks for the chance to win a pattern.

If given the choice to go anywhere in the world I would choose Alaska. The getaway would be for my family. We are in need of a vacation. My husband works so hard so that I can stay at home and school my youngest child. We have been through a lot in the past few years which has stopped us from going out of town. I chose Alaska because the wildlife there is amazing. Getting away from the craziness of day to day life. Being in the wild is so peaceful and refreshing. Plus, with the family we could get away from computers, cell phones, and whatever destracts families from enjoying each others company and relight the love for each other. So, Alaska would be my choice...

As for the dot fabric? No clue. Sorry!

New Moon -- my daughter texted me last night to tell me she's purchased her tickets for the midnight screening on opening day. Crazy!

Im an odd bird, my ideal vacation is a 'stay-cation'. I do not like to travel, at all, period. I would however love some time in my house to clean from head to toe without my daughter, dog, or husbands 'help'!

I would love to have the time and money -- but, you did say all expenses paid -- to return to my home state of Louisiana and explore the bayous my dad explored as a lad and just revisit everywhere there that I've lived and been. My husband's job took us back there for 4 years and we lived all over the state and both daughters were born there. It would be like 'going home'. Thanks for asking and thanks for offering quilty prizes.

San Juan Puerto Rico so I could stand just once more on the top of the fort and gaze out at the bright blue sky where it meets the cool aqua of the sea, where the warm breezes blow through my hair and all around me hundred of people are fly beautiful multi-colored kites swirling and dipping and diving but all the while reaching high, higher and higher still as if trying to reach the hand of God. It is a lovely moving quilt pattern that only nature and God could create.

Not sure - but it looked similar!
Hope that helps!

I once won a trip to South Africa - one week of pure luxury and leisure - and if I had the choice I'd go there again. Not for the luxury (we spent the whole time in Sun City - you can't just leave for a walk or so), but to see more of the people and more of the wonderful country and wildlife.

Without a doubt I would go (back) to Japan and spend a long time trying to immerse myself in the culture, marvel at the buildings, the like, the beautiful fabrics, the numerous shops everywhere, the nature. Well everything really. I spent 10 days there 2 years ago and this was the best trip ever, wish I could have stayed for a lot longer.

If I could go anywhere in the world, all expenses paid and also take at least one extra suitcase it would be to Australia. I have discovered so many talented designers from there here in blogland. I have corresponded with a couple of gals and learning about their country below the equator compared to mine is so much fun.
All of those neat new quilt shops...whoa, here I come!

If I could to anywhere I would go to the Galapagos Islands where the nature is incredible. They only let a limited number of visitors on the islands to preserve the beauty of the natural habitats of the wildlife. To see the giant tortoises, the penguins, flamingos, scuba dive with the sea lions would be incredible.
