Hello Rachel! Thanks for stopping by my blog :o) I think I can unlock the mystery of why you don't get enough blog traffic. First it takes a little while. :o) Second... pictures. Women respond to quilty pictures! Gives a better sense of your style, etc. You write very well and it's fun to read... just my two cents worth! Lol, whether you wanted it or not :o) But I will mark you and come back and visit often. Also... how did you get into quilting? At 25? That is great!

oh yes. I have to agree 100% with the first comment. We'd like to see some pictures of your crooked cabin quilt, your stars and blooms wall hanging, and your summer stash challenge quilt you are working on. Everyone loves progress reports! ..but its hard to comment on things when you can't see them. Everything you talk about sounds so nice.

that doesn't happen everyday. wish you all the best.

I third the motion!!!! Pictures please! I have a hard time not putting a pic in each post on my blog even if it has nothing to do with the post itself (like today) just because I know how much I enjoy them on other's blogs! Also, it does take some time but doing tutorials and giveaways will help to boost your readers for sure.

I agree with the others -- pictures make a huge difference! And it does take time. Keep commenting and visiting other blogs and eventually you'll notice an increase in your traffic. Don't let a lack of comments/visitors get you discouraged. Your writing is fun to read -- and pictures will make a big difference!

Hi Rachel, I found you through Primitive Quilts and you have a great blog. I love it that you quilt and I wish I had started much sooner. :) As for increasing blog traffic, just keep reading and commenting and be patient. I've only been blogging since April and I find my traffic increases ever so slightly every day. Blessings, marlene

I agree with Marlene. I just started in March and the traffic is starting to increase now. Be patient, it will come.

Keep travelling blogland and leave comments. Pictures are always good to get people coming back, too. Join in some blogger challenges, like photo challenges etc if you come across them. They build visitors, I found. My visitor counter jumped when I joined Scatterdays ( a photo letter challenge) a while back.

The others have it right, Rachel. Don't feel discouraged, it does take a little time. Pictures help, but what you're doing by commenting is really good. Most people (though not all) will reciprocate.

I've been blogging for about three years on 3 seperate blogs, and I agree it takes time. I wouldn't stress over traffic though, you can have tons and tons of people visiting your blog, and not make any friends. Blog rings increase traffic and are a great way to meet people. Also quilting forums and groups...lots of bloggers in those places. The best way though, really, is just to keep reading and commenting. Don't move your blog too much either lol* which I am culprit of. A few of my bloggy friends have followed me through the moves, but I've lost a good 80% of them! Bloggers don't like change! Lol* :)

Hi Rachel!
Thanks for commenting on my blog for the giveaway! You should just keep doing what you are doing, and I agree about the pictures. You can also put in a little tutorial, and you'll get a lot of new traffic!

GOOD LUCK!
Lila

HI just found this post........not sure what it is that MAKES more people come to you.......it is something that just evolves over time.......somethign will happen and you stats take a little step up.....I am with the others and love to see pics.......hate to post without them.......and I like to do a giveaway but it is more to find who is lurking.......don't like everyone to say I am having one.......and as for people doing draws and adding extra chances if you blog and post about there draw.....HATE it.....don't follow those leads unless it is to a blog I constantly read and misssed it........be your self as that is what people like......keep persisting and it is the quality of your bloggy friends visiting not the number........I love the extra emails I have back and forwards with others......
