I am becoming much more comfortable using zippers! Love them for small bags. I just need good directions!

love, love zippers

I'm comfortable with zippers for pouches and interior pockets on bags - haven't tried any other types. I think the key is to find a good tutorial when you start so that you don't get discouraged! Lisa at U-Handbag has some great ones.

It depends on the project a little bit but generally love them!

Dressmaking - much prefer sewing a zip in something than doing buttons/buttonholes.

Cushions - I tend to not have any fastenings on as it always seems much quicker.

I have no problems with zippers or various methods of putting them into projects. And I use Zipit for supplier, too.

I'm about medium about zippers. Not easy for me, but not too hard to deter...

Up until this week I hated zippers! This week I made Creative Thimble's Professional Tote and it has 3 zippers! I hadn't put in a zipper in years! I discovered that zippers really aren't that hard when given good instructions. :-)

I haven't attempted zippers yet. They scare me! lol

I love zippers in colors...especially pink. That being saud, I've only installed one once, eating a lot of chocolate and saying some choice words while doing so, vowed never to do it again, and since have been takingsaid zippers to my cleaners to have them installed...worth my $2.50 every time.

I first encountered zippers making the Gathered Clutch by Noodlehead. Since then, I have made many small bags and pouches with them. I bought a big set from ZipIt with lots of colors!

I love them; but that's because I studied Fashion Design in college. I got used to putting them into each dress, pant, jacket, etc that I made...although even some of my fellow classmates felt zipper-pain when they'd put it in upside down or wrong side out.

I've been buying most of mine from the LQS; but have been making more pouches and bags lately...really need to score some off of Zipit.

I love Jennie @ Zipit, and I love zippers - every time I see a new fabric I think of it in terms of how it would look as a bag with a zipper, lol. I'm addicted to them!

I just don't ignore them, I pretend they don't even exist!

Thank you for sharing the link to purchase zippers. I like to put them in small bags and usually use 7", 9", or 12". The problem is few stores sell them anymore and if they do they are only in basic colors. Thank you again.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE zippers! I use them when I make throw pillows and dog beds - So much easier to wash, dry, and if needed replace stuffing. Especially with the dog beds - I usually elect to replace the stuffing every now and again.

When they go in nice and pretty on the first try I love them. If I have to rip them out more than once well you know that answer.

I have yet to sew a zipper into anything but want to do it. I'm fascinated with all the colors available and so on.

Now to just do it.....ah....scary! :)

I love zippers. If I had known they were so easy I would have started using them years ago.

Love zippers! Expecially now that they come in so many pretty colors. You already know my most recent zipper sewing is making them a part of my pillow designs. I wish they still came with metal teeth tho. Only in the basic sizes and colors now and specialty zips.

Beautiful color choices Rachel! Don't they have awesome deals? I stocked up when someone mentioned them and just couldn't resist their selection!

Meh - could live without them - except on my jeans.

I'm like several people here - zippers intimidate the heck out of me.

So far zippers aren't bad. I think they have a bad rap though. It made me scared of them. One step at a time and it isn't so bad.

I *love* zippers! They are so much fun to use, and the finished product is great. I sew lots of happy bags with zippers (www.happygirlsews.etsy.com), and clothes for me and my little girl with them. And zipit is a great place to buy them. She has awesome customer service and I am always surprised they come so fast.

Love 'em. When I was a teenager, I could put in a zipper with my eyes closed...and then I had a really dreadful run-in with one and it psyched me out so badly that I pretty much avoided zippers until recently. (Let's just say I'm 30-something.) I followed a great little bag tutorial about a year ago, the zipper went in nice and pretty and now we're friends again. :)

Never used them as I thought you had to have a zipper foot, which I don't have. I'm going to jump in the deep end though as I love all those cutesie little bags. So handy too!

scare the piss out of me!! I remember my Mother cussing them out and she was a seasoned seamstress! LOL thnks, I'll avoid them for a while! LOL

I avoid zippers like the plague although I hear they are simple. That is in part why I havent ventured out into making bags. One day I suppose Ill get bold and venture out and try it.

I used to hate them but they are OK now. I hated making clothes, my mother forced me to make my clothes and sew for her and my grandmother. They were seamstresses in New Orleans for the parade krewes.

I hated making clothes and vowed never ever to make clothes again, very Scarlet O'Hara like.

Since I was about 14 years old I made the majority of my own clothes (except jeans) including skirts and suits. Zippers have never bothered me.

I have become a zipper queen. I too order my zippers from Zipit. This year, I have made 38 dufflebags from Terri Atkinson's pattern. I made 24 as favors for my daughter-in-law's 2012 Oscar party. Then I made duffles for my grandsons to put their little toys in. Of course, I had to make some for all the nieces and aunts! I can do them in my sleep.

I love zippers and getting them at Zipit! So easy to just pull one out of my supply. I put them in inside pockets of my totes and purses now. My two-sided zipper foot (on my Viking Topaz) makes it easy, and there are good directions out there to get over the fear of using zippers.

My first attempt at a zipper turned out pretty bad. Attempts there after were better.. but still not fun! At least I can handle velcro!

I have started getting mine from zipit too. Three cheers for zipit! Love the colour range but the best bit was how fast it got to me here on the other side of the world (Australia). It was quick. I seem to have created a demand for small zippered pouches when i made them as party favours for my son's birthday party last year. Apparently they are great for carrying your canteen money as well as keeping your treasures safe. My zipper sewing is still far from perfect and I still pull up my big girl undies before i start.
