summer house.

11 June 2011

summer house.

i have over 7 yards of yummy fabric calling my name.

along with a mountain of laundry, my disgusting bathroom, my kiddos baseball games,
my neglected flower beds, overdue deadlines, my overflowing email, pattern writing,
the post office, a handful of grey hairs & mr griffith himself.

where's mary poppins when you need her?!?!
:D

fabric = summer house by lily ashbury for moda <--a must have in my opinion :)

Supercalafragalistic... I am having the opposite problem -- If you find Ms. Poppins, please send her over here so I can get some sewing done! By the way, how did you get your hands on that fabric already? I thought it wasn't due out until July?

I love the fabrics that you have waiting. There is a voice that is calling me into my sewing room. I think the voice will win out and the vacuum cleaner will have to wait.

Oh my. I often feel the same way. Life itself can be crazy busy with its demands. I very often wish for 48 hour days instead of 24. Lovely fabric. Looks like good fun.

I hear ya! I have all of that and more, but that fabric is gorgeous.

I'll bet she ran away with Mr. French from Family Affair (gosh, that was even before MY time!) because the demand for them was overwhelming. That Summer House fabric is calling my name!

I wasn't on the LOVE TRAIN when I first viewed this line on Moda's site but it has been growing on me with the little peeks I've been getting here and there. Okay, today it is full blown LOVE! I can't wait to see what you are going to make with it!

Here I am, Ms. Poppins at your service, what do you need?
(I'm a British nanny and have been called Mary Poppins many times!)
I can come and re-locate your fabric stash for you (I can hide it all in my oversized bag); that will free you up to do all those other things...please hurry and do the bathroom first, in case I have to use it!!

When you manage to get through your mountain of housework and other related things (I feel your pain)I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with these lovely colours.

That is some seriously pretty fabric!! The only thing on your list that would worry about are the relationships. The rest will wait. :-)

Bree said...

Your list is exactly like mine, except for the kiddo baseball game... mine's too young and uncoordinated for that. But omg, I found grey hairs the other day, too!
And yet, I'm hiding with my own yummy fabric stacks, lol!

Sometimes...life is just a proverbial treadmill, and the off button to rest is no where in sight...Grey hair is kind of cool and nothing to hide..(just something you earned..lol)The fabric is gorgeous!! Will have to get some...

It's all your fault! I just ordered these fabrics in a jelly roll and layer cake! I couldn't stand it anymore...I tried to resist and I made it a whole day! I'm thinking a dresden plate quilt will look cute. Can't wait to see what you do with it. Smiles!

Oh the grey hairs!! They are hitting me hard right now. I always knew I'd go grey young (thanks Dad) but it's sure a bitter pill. I might just embrace it. My husband can indulge his X-Men Storm fantasy then.

Chris said...

Such pretty fabric - unfortunately, I'm on a self-imposed moratorium on buying new fabric - my goal is to make 2 scrap quilts using only supplies I have on hand, then I can buys something new! All the best - Chris

What project have you used your Summer House fabric on? After I saw this post back in June, I had to hunt it down and buy some. I have finally decided to make your postage stamp quilt with some of it. I thought it was only right. lol.
