Nothing like fall in Ohio. Apples, apples everywhere! And the smell in the air.
Beautiful quilt. Perfect timing with the weather finally breaking from HOT in OH to make me think I need to make this asap!

Love your fall (or in the FAR south i.e. Australia - Autumn) quilt. You'll have to show your Spring quilt very soon as, officially, we folks Down Under are only a week off Spring and I'm sure I'm not the only Oz follower you have :)! My fruit trees in blossom are giving me incentives to make something "Spring-y".
I am right there with you! I am counting the days when I can pull out my fall quilts to display around my house. Then bring out the Pumpkin spice candles and fall silk flowers. Went to Michaels this week and they gave me the bug really bad. Your quilt is beautiful! I need more fall quilts to lay on our beds, might just have to make it.
rachel....this is why we are friends!!!! I love love love autumn and this quilt is seriously stunning!!!!!
Congratulations on having your quilt in a magazine...I think the quilting on it is awesome...and I feel the same way about Fall.
Mama Bear
Rachel, that is so beautiful! I've got some fall fabrics that I was trying to figure out how to use, and this will be perfect!
It's a beauty Rachel! And that's supported by being in the magazine AND kits at Fat Quarter Shop! Yay for you!
It's lovely! So glad you got your quilt in McCalls as well as the fat quarter shop good job for you!
I so LOVE Fall! It has to be my fav time of year.
Apple Cider donuts, leaves changing, comfort foods, hoodies, and oh so much more!
Gorgeous quilt! The quilting on it is amazing!
nice quilt rachel!! hope everything goes well with welcoming the new baby in your home, so you guys moved again? hope that goes well. hope to hear from you soon, miss you like crazy!!
I LOVE FALL!
I there is NOTHING that gets me in the mood then to sit in an 84F hot house with Pre-season Football on pretending the leaves are chaging color on the trees, there's cool crisp air whisping through the windows, a hint of burning leaves on the air, pumpkin pie in the kitchen.
Then I get jarred back into reality with sweat dripping down my nose.
ps:
LOVE the quilt!
Got so excited about Fall that I forgot about the quilt! LOL!
My UPS guy just delivered my Shoofly quilt kit -- I can't wait to get started. I saw it in McCall's Quick Quilts and ordered the kit immediately from the Fat Quarter Shop. I love it!!!! Fall is my favorite time of year, but I'd love to see the spring version too. Best of luck with the birth of your new baby -- how exciting!!!
Rachel, I really LOVE this quilt!!! I'm not a big fan of fall..I think because we really don't get that season here in Florida....but I do look forward to football! Congratulations on the new pattern and best wishes with the new baby!
I just fell in love!
Fall is my fave season and I love fall prints, mostly leaves.
There was an obsessive point when I bought "some" of every print with leaves. I stopped buying and started cutting when I had 62 different pieces. (I am medicated now ... no more leaves.) ... snicker / giggle ...
At least I have them all cut! I made quilts for two friends and saved out enough for myself. I might sew it this year, but most likely not.
Best Wishes with the baby stuff.
This is just STUNNING!! Love it so much. I am busy making a quilt right now with the same fabric, it is also coming out beautifully. Hope the last period of your pregnancy goes well :)
I love fall too. It is so warm and cozy. Love your quilt. The quilting is exquisite.
I love the colors of fall and the cool and not yet freezing days. At the same time I am sad to see summer end. I love the quilt, especially the leaves quilted on it.
I'm with you Rachel! Fall is my very favorite. I have collections of pumpkins, turkeys, fall leaves.... I can't wait for Labor Day so I can start putting them out. Of course, it still feels weird cause here in Florida we don't even get a crisp morning until mid-October. Love the quilt!
Love it! I'm so glad you posted this. I was staring at all the fall fabrics a couple of days ago wondering if it was too soon to start buying it. I really want a fall table runner.
Fall is my favorite too. LOVE the quilt. Good luck on your new addition. God bless.
Love the quilt and congrats on being puplished.
I agree with everyone about fall. I love the smells, the cool air,and Halloween. Also, love the quilt's colors and design
My most favorite time of year is fall! and like you I like wearing hoodies and jeans with flip flops! And your quilt makes the perfect fall acompaniment!!!
I too am an Autumn girl in colors but we are beginning Spring here so am enraptured with that at present and all I can fill my blog with is spring photos.
We have had 5 yrs of drought so rain every day is just bliss.
Bit hard to get out and take photos though.
I have just last week put the borders on a quilt with colors similar to yours....Moda..Sandy Gervaise...Nells Flower Shop.
I used 3 or 4 charm squares and interspersed it with cream squares...it is now rather large. I tried to fit it to a table and the length is right but the sides are a bit long as the photos show.
But I know the number of charm squares needed to fit the table now. LOL
My heart has been aching for fall in this 90 degree heat. And your quilt is fabulous. I want to make a fall quilt now, too!
Good Luck !! ohhh ; a NEW baby ! Hope you all are well . HEY !!! I just bought Quick Quilts , and LOVE YOUR QUILT , however , I did not put the two together ; they should have allowed you to put 'the p.s. I quilt gal' after your name ! I am going to make my sister one , since she loves fall ! I have a layer cake , so will make some 'adjustments' . Now I know why I fell in love with it -- because it's one of yours !
this is fabulous Rachel! congrats!
The quilting pattern on that is gorgeous. I could hardly tell you what fabrics are used because I was staring at the stitches! Just found your blog today & I'm already crazy about it.
I heart Fall, too. I will miss going back to PA this Autumn to see the changing leaves:(
But I have so much in my fabric stash that I should get on to creating something. Thanks for sharing...I'm new to your blog.
Wow...Love your quilt! http://www.thriftyideastoday.com/
I love this quilt, and I am thinking of making one. My question is, how did you do the leaf pattern on top, did you machine quilt it, hand quilt it, send it in, etc.?
Thank you
Love those leaves in the quilting!
