I recognize that fabric! In the process of making "Scruffily" for an expected neice. And I LOVE it. Will post to your Flickr group when complete.
Whoa Rachel, you are so cool! Not many people can compare themselves to Val Kilmer in Top Gun!
I made a couple dresses for a friend recently and actually cut out the fabric with my scissors too! It felt great! I never thought to try spinning them though! I'll never be as cool as you ;)

I love your music...touches my heart!
i have scissors in a photo today too. funny though now that you mention it, that's the only choice i remember having early on. my first four or five quilts were cut entirely with silver ginghers. all my custom wedding gowns too. gosh i don't feel that old, but it sure sounds like i am doesn't it.
Baha bad to the bone!!!!
With so few words, you make me laugh.
How funny...I'm sitting here at the computer cutting fabric with scissors, too! What do ya know? And yes, I feel a little naughty with each snip...hehehe! Have fun snipping away!! :-)

My problem is once I learned to cut with a rotary, I can no longer use the scissors with any accuracy. It ends up looking like a kid did it.

So Rachel,
Looks like your feeling much!

I wonder if the first quilters who used rotary cutters felt like rebels?
oh, you are a daring one! Watch out for the quilt police :) :) Good morning!
you are sooo funny :)
You crack me up. ;o)
I just bought a new pair of scissors and it felt really good to cut out a pattern with them...so I know how you feel.
Careful now...we wouldn't want to get the quilt police on your case!!?
As it happened we watched Top Gun with my daughter (age 16) the other night and she thought it was "very 80's" LOL
so fun! I am so addicted to my rotary cutter I even use it to make little cuts!
I can't wait to see what you do with that frolic jelly roll! I have one in my sewing room BEGGING to be cut up!
Maybe I should use scissors?
Snip away and enjoy feeling wicked for doing it!
I amazed when my niece tells me she used to scissor cut all her quilt pieces. Thankfully, I didn't get interested in quilting until after the rotary cutter came out. But back to basics is good, right? Looking forward to your "printer friendly" version on the Moda presentation.
