Well here's a couple questions that I always like to hear answers from the blogger...:
1.) what kind of machine do you use?
2.) what kind of thread do you use for quilting?

I loved your music so much that had to buy it from iTunes so I could hear it without being on your website!! (I peeked at your player!) Just want to say thanks for introducing me to this beautiful, beautiful song.

How about curing fabric addiction? I never liked modern fabrics, now I'm trying to figure out a way to justify buying them without giving up funds from my other fabric groups... :)

Hi Rachel
My question is about washing precuts. You say not to pre-wash, and I know that would distort the shape, but how do you ensure that they don't fade in the wash?

I love your photography - what type of camera and lens do you use? Do you use mostly natural lighting?

I would second the sewing machine and thread question- after all, I'm always in the market for a new machine or more thread. I, too, am very excited for the quilt along. I have my fabric stashed. I'm impressed you can think about quilting at all- whenever I'm preggo just the thought of any of my hobbies triggers morning sickness. Odd, right? Once I saw an ad on television for a scrapbook expo and I had to run and throw up. Go figure!

Hey Rachel! It sounds like you're starting to feel better, which is awesome! I'm signed up for your pinwheel quilt and am looking forward to learning all that from you, but my question has to do with photography. How do you get your pictures to show so nicely on your blog? If you check my blog out, I'm having a bit of trouble getting them to look crisp and clear. Are you photoshopping them beforehand? If you do check my blog out, let me know what you think about what I did to my husbands pic. It cracks me up! LOL Have a good one!

When you're sewing blocks together and seams have to match, and you're sure they do, and you go ahead and sew a whole row of them. Then you open it up and check it out and find several places where it's just plain off and not matching at all! What do you do? Do you just let it go and live with it? Or do you always rip it out knowing that anyone who sews will see the off places and know it doesn't match? (I just had this experience...some rows are great. Others, every seam is off!)

I ditto the sharpness in photo question. I need someone who has a Typepad blog HELP me know how to upload sharp photos!

I am curious if there is a correct way to back a quilt? Vertical, horizontal, etc.? I know the new kraz is to piece the back which is way cool! Glad you are feeling a bit better.

Do you have a favorite quilt pattern?

I have lots of questions!

How did you get started in quilt making as a business?

How do you get all your gorgeous fabrics? Are they gifts? Do the manufacturers send them to you for projects? If you are paying for them, I wish I had your budget!!!

If you purchase fabrics, do you buy per pattern directions, or do you get as much as you like?

How do sponsors find you, or do you find them?

Ummm... after reading the Twilight saga... are you team Edward or team Jacob????

Also, have you read the leaked manuscript on StephenieMeyer.com from the book in Edwards perspective yet?!

I can't stand the wait for more Twilight goodness!

I've already asked you these, but I figure this post is a better place for them.
*When you sew your pieces together, what kind of thread do you use?
*When you quilt/applique, what kind of thread do you use?
*When you bind your quilts, what kind of thread do you use?

Thanks!

I've recently found your blog...great pics and love the fabrics you choose too!
I'm looking forward to the FAQ also.
If anyone is interested, the best thread I've found is from "Connecting Thread" it's 100% Egyptian cotton and it sews like butter....and also very reasonable, only $1.99 when not on sale....colors are vibrant and they have thread sets too!

So glad you're taking questions cause I have several.

~Can you tell me how you create a pattern? I have several patterns I would like to put on Etsy. How to I turn my ideas into a full, sellable pattern. Do you use Adobe Illustrator or some other type of program to layout the blocks and such?

~I ditto the photo questions & the getting started as a prof quilter question & really just want to know how you turned a love of quilting into a business.

Thanks so much!

p.s. i heart your quilting

I am workingon a quilt right now that has about 10 stitchery blocks pieced together to form the middleof the quilt. The outer border is made up of pieced blocks. what is the best way to quilt the center area? I love to stitch , but can't quite figure out the best quilt those babies. So the burning question is how do you quilt a stitchery?
