new moon night.

20 November 2009

{click to enlarge pic.}

oh my goodness!!!
new moon was freaking amazing!!!
SO, SO amazing!!!
not. even. joking.

new moon is 300 million times better than twilight!!!
like you almost can't even compare them.
totally different leagues.
seriously.

chris weitz totally knocked it out of the park!!!
{i SO wish he would have been the director for twilight.}
he did the book SO much justice.

the scene we all dreaded...when edward left...
*sniff, sniff*
even more painful to see & hear.
my heart broke for bella.

the october, november & december pages...
i personally liked how they depicted them on screen.
{the change from october to november could've had more contrast though.}

did half of the movie budget go to taylor lautner's trainer???
the guy is ripped. wow.
instead of a 6-pack, he's sporting an 85-pack. haha.
i really think those 30 extra pounds agree with him.

the werewolves made me almost pee my pants.
{remember how i told yall i am scared to death of werewolves???}
well it happened...i was in tears...almost hyperventilating.
& it wasn't so much jacob in wolf form, but sam that really freaked me out.
{my niece was cracking up over this.}

when edward thinks bella is dead...
LOVED that scene.
yall just wait.

edward + red robe in volterra fight scene = awesomeness!!!
the whole scene with the volturi...amazing.
aro & jane were SO spot on.

and i'll close with this...
i personally LOVED the ending.
some people didn't, but i did.

i have SO much more i could elaborate on.
i'll be a good girl and wait though.

so who has opinions???
i want to hear them.

p.s. only 222 days until eclipse!!!
{yeah...i SO just said that!!!}
i can't wait for june 30th, 2010

Pin It!

so beyond what i had imagined. and i had my sights set high every since i had heard the movie was really close to the book

the wolves? i actually yelped(like that eh? lol) when they first jumped on screen.

it was fantastic. when it was over, i was yelling to rewind it and start over lol

only thing that makes me sad, i wanted Demetri's line when he says *dibs* when Bella first gets to the Volturi. and i loved the fight scene. Edward was soooooo yummy with the red robe. or should i say yummer???

now to see if i can sneak out again tonight ;)

OH MY GOSH!!! I saw it last night an midnight, and it was fantastic!!! Your review is spot on. It was a million times better than the first. I loved everything about it. They really did this one justice, and I can't wait to see the next one. June 30 is too far away!!!

Great... now I have to go to the theater. Its supposed to rain tomorrow, so that is a good excuse to go. So much for being good and waiting for the dvd!

that's good to hear! i love the books but honestly thought the movie Twilight was horrible. I understand that it's always hard to pack everything that's in a book into a movie, but i just think the 1st movie was pretty bad! So now I'm REALLY looking forward to New Moon!

I'm so glad to hear it! I can't wait to go see it now!

so I am gathering here you DIDN"T like the movie....just kidding!! I am glad you liked it!I don't think I could convince my hbby to go with me so it's off my "MUST SEE" list until its on DVD and he doenst have to be there with me to see it. We rarely get to go out anymore (no one wants to watch TWO little kids and the odds of finding two sitters for the same time...) so I have to stick wiht stuff we'd both like.

Thanks for making me feel better about my new obsession for this series. I snuck out to see it today, while most of the intended audience was in school! I loved it, too. Agree that it's better than first. Better pace, more "heat", which was needed. I'm now ready to read the next two books. Count me as a fan! I too liked the ending. Always leave them wanting more.
Thanks for sharing!

I SO agree with everything you said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Can we all pitch in our pennies and have Chris Weitz remake Twilight?!)

I can't wait to go again. (Midnight showing, but arrived later than we should have so had to sit in first section.)

I'm experiencing too much of a high to criticize anything.

I could never understand or buy into Team Jacob in reading the book and I'm not saying I'm changin', but Taylor and Kristen really did a great job in making me see the possibilities of that in the characters.

I could go on and on..... I love sharing my enthusiasm, especially with Twi-fans that really get IT!

I loved it! Took a vacation day from work to go alone to see it. Hubby not so interested and other friend/fans lived to far away. Now I have to wait on them to see it so we can talk about it. As a die-hard Jacob fan, can I just say OMG!

I. CAN. NOT. WAIT!

I went and saw the movie tonight! Hubby even went with me, so that was a bonus! I loved it too! I liked the scene when Bella jumped off the cliff. And the scene with the Volturi, especially the fight with Edward. I think the actors are so perfectly cast. I liked Jasper's look in this movie so much more too. It was great and I think I'm going to see it again next with my kids when we visit them for Thanksgiving!

I'm sitting here reading these comments from adult women. Sigh. I thought this was for 12 year old girls. We're hopeless. Looks to sappy for me but glad it was, like, awesome and sooooooo cooooelll for everyone. OMG.

totally random and off topic but i am having a machine crisis. what do you sew on and what would you recommend in the under 400 price range?

Thanks for the review! You sound so excited about it that I'm going to have to see it!

parts of the movie were good and others weren't...liked the wolves and there was alot more chemistry between Bella and Jacob than I remember from the book..I've never been much of a Jacob fan but TL is so appealing he makes me love Jacob. Music was..eehh and I still think KS can't act. New Moon is my least fav book of the series so I am looking forward to the next movie. Don't get me wrong..still a big fan...there just wasn't enough....Edward.

Twas a good movie.. I LOVED the special effects with the wolf pack, totally cool.. And yes, I shed a single tear at the very end... The best $20 for tix and $20 for snacks I spent on a movie this year.. I even got a souvenir cup cover...

Loved it! I agree the werewolves were great but really scary! At least it wasn't cheesy, I was worried they would make them too dog like.
I definitely enjoyed the 6-pack scenes - yum! It almost converted me from team edward to team jacob...almost.
I think I am still iffy on the ending, not sure how I feel about it. I think I just didn't want it to be over, I wanted the whole book series in one shot....hurry up June!

Danielle said...

I agree with everything! It was soooo much better than Twilight. I want to see it again! I loved the ending, I thought it was perfect! I mean, we all know there is more to some, so a little suspense is exactly what was called for..... hmmm. I thought I was 100% Team Edward, but Jacob was just amazing! How can a girl choose?!?!? Waiting very impatiently until June......

Gonna try to take my 14 yr old sister to see it tomorrow. I love the series of books, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie.

AND I'm really already stressing about Breaking Dawn. WHAT IF THEY SCREW IT UP?!?! What if they break it up into 2 movies to fit everything in?! *hyperventalates*

boysmum2 said...

Having now seen it, I can totally relate. The change of seasons was done so well, Edward on the phone finding out she is dead was good. Jacob was awesome, for a 17yr old actor he looks good, wonder if his mum realises what a heart throb she has just brought up! As you said the director did it justice and I so hope Eclipse is as good if not better. Just over 200 days to reread the book!

You should come to Australia. We see it first. My daughter saw in 4 times already....

I cried when I saw the first movie because I felt they did such a bad job of portraying a book I really loved. But, this movie was so good! I was so happy they did this book justice. I can't wait to see it again!

Ok, so, I totally debated on if I should even comment or not, if I should voice my opinion or not, and how I should do it if I did, for you see I am the begit that fuels the creativity behind 'PS I Quilt', or at least I like to think so...I joke. I am Rachel's husband, Edward...I mean Shane.
Last night, I was forced to go see the "New Moon" without my wife. After seeing the first movie, I will admit "New Moon" is much better and much improved. I really liked he cinematography on some of the scenes and the fact that I did not feel as if I were watching a two hour American Eagle or Ambercrombie ad was greatly appreciated. However, I just want to say the best way to make the third movie better than could ever be is to completely remove all dialogue for Edward, just leave him on screen for the ladies to google at, but shut his flipping mouth. Please...of course I am just a man who used to be a Marine, who is in love with most incredible woman ever to walk the face of the earth, who feels that cheese and wine belong only on a diner table not on the big screen of Hollywood, what do I know. To my wife's friends and fans, please hold none of this againt her, she does not know that I have bogarted her laptop...these are clearly not her opnions, only mine and about every other red blooded American male who thinks that the final line of the movie/book was likened to the pain of a root canal just before the novicane sets in.
Sorry Rachel, I do love you more than anything...still...just you and me kid...

I haven't been to see it yet, sad I know. My step-daughters didn't like it at all so I'm debating on waiting for it to come out on DVD. Your review makes me want to pack up and go see it right now. :)

A wee bit late to the party but - I LOVED IT TOO! I dragged DH on opening day to go see it. He was impressed but thought it was a little melodramatic. I had totally forgetten the ending, then held my breath as Edward proposed. Bring on June 30th :)
Rant over...
