a few things i learned from quilt market.

16 November 2009

a few things i learned from quilt market:

you acquire WAY more than you think you will.
{bring an extra suitcase. or two.}

people take pics of you left & right.
{whether you want them to or not.}

some people are exactly what you expect when you meet them.
{some people...not so much.}

fashion stops from the knees down.
{and for good reason.}

you can never take too many pics.
{trust me on this.}

sample spree is the zoo it's depicted to be.
{you HAVE to witness it though!!!}

you need to make a conscience effort to walk the floor.
{you might miss something if you don't.}

& you need at least a week to recover.
{okay...maybe two...ish.}

Pin It!

I'd be more than willing to take all of your lessons learned and put them into practice.

I wish I could go to market. Maybe someday I will be in the industry insteady of just supporting it =)

Interesting, but it still sounds like fun.

OMG- what a flash back I just had when you mentioned sample spree. I (now) remember going to an optical fair...don't ask...it was for work...and one stand was giving away free plush toys of 'hush puppies' every afternoon. God knows what I wanted with a free plush toy but I was there...along with a plethora of other people who I'm sure didn't need a plush toy either. Hey if it was a fat quarter or a tape measure or 1" ruler or something useful at the very least, I'd be lining up at 9am. Thanks for making me laugh at an old memory that I'd faded from my banks!

please keep the new moon music for a little while, it's so beautiful!!!!

I can never decide whether quilt market would be awesome fun or actual hell on earth...maybe both?

I'm thinking this must be the biggest event of the year in the quilting world! Everyone's posts on it make me want to go! I think it sounds like an absolute blast!

You covered it all. Except I might add "You think you know someone well until you shop 'Sample Spree' with them!"

Going to Quilt Market would be a dream come true for me! I can barely make decisions at a quilt shop. Glad I discovered your blog! I'll be back.
