don't get me wrong, i love my kids.
i just love when they go back to school and i have a reason to miss them.

I am so laughing - and empathizing - right now!! The August Syndrome has hit with a vengence this year for every family I know. Having had two of my own (now 30 & 28) AND teaching for 20-kazillion years (I now teach teachers!) I can spot it with the first symptoms. Hang in there...at least they start before Labor Day!

Mine are back next Thursday and hubby (teacher) is back on Monday. I literally cannot wait till it is just me and the baby in the house in the mornings. I'm going to sit and listen to the silence when she has her morning nap. Lol.

Our kids started school last week. Neener, neener, neener! Not one ounce of sadness here.

We choose to homeschool the young ones, so I don't get to miss them, BUT and that is a big BUT, our older kids that are home for the summer do annoy us incredibly!! We love them, but oh boy, don't get me started!

I wish. We homeschool and I am always jealous of the parents that get a few hours' break each day.

I'm the opposite - I hang-out for school to finish so I get to be at home. Don't get me wrong I love my students but some days they wear me out! I need the holidays to recharge so the desire to keep teaching comes back. I do totally get where you are coming from though.

My oldest is already back in school. Is it mean of me to rub it in? :)

Where will you be in Pittsburgh? I live here now and would love to see you IRL, since I have cyber stalked, er, loved you for so long!

I love this quote! Nope, our kids are home educated and only leave to volunteer or work. When they were young I remember thinking I was crazy not to send them to school and go for coffee, haha! But it's been such a wonderful life teaching them, and now that they are nearly done with school I get all sorts of time to myself. :)

After being home all summer with my four, I was sooooo ready for them to go back. The quiet is luxurious. And they are happy to be back in school too! Not so happy with the 6:40am bus pick up though.

I feel like this has been my life every morning this week. My kids are 2 and 4 and I work full time. When I think we are all ready to walk out the door and get in the car, something goes wrong! Life with children...

Every parent has these moments. Deep breaths, and hang in there!

1) as a teacher, I have a love/loathe relationship with back-to-school. I miss my students (which I call my kids) terribly over the summer, but I'm always sad to give up my entire world to the school system when it starts back up. It's weird to hear it from the "other side" -- but nice at the same time. =)

2) you'll be in pittsburgh? when, where? for a class? can i sign up?
=)

Right after Labor Day for us. I am looking forward to getting back to that routine and hopefully some more sewing time for me.
