beef tips & noodles.

rachel's beef tips & noodles.

here's what y'all will need:
1 1/2 - 2 lbs frozen beef stew meat
1 big can {26oz} cream of chicken soup
1 envelope lipton soup mix <--i use beefy onion OR savory herb with garlic

1 cup water
1 package cooked egg noodles

the making part:
mix cream of chicken soup, lipton soup mix & water in bowl.
place frozen beef stew meat in crockpot.
pour soup mixture over meat.
cook in crockpot on low for 6 hours.

add the cooked egg noodles to the meat & gravy right in the crockpot.
{makes for easier clean up.}

hork it down.

this meal is a must in the griffith house.
it's one of mr griffith's favorite meals of all time.
the meat is oh, so yummy & tender.
and i just love to sop up my gravy with a piece of buttered bread.
mmmm gravy.

note: you could add mushrooms if you wanna, but we no wanna.
well, mr. griffith might wanna, but mrs. griffith don't.
:P

oh, and this is THE perfect meal when you don't feel like cooking.
OR if you've been quilting all day. <--ask me how i know this. HA.

hope y'all enjoy.

xo, rachel

Thanks for teaching us how to rock the crock pot.

My dinner dilemma is now solved and I am free to commence piecing. :-)

That sounds easy enough, even I might be able to make it. I believe I will have to give this a try!! If I were your husband though, I'd keep those little cans of mushrooms around so I could dump them into my plate or bowl, without affecting the non-mushroom eaters of the house... but that's 'cause I'm seriously addicted to mushrooms.

Thanks for the recipe!

This will be on my table within the next week! Yum!

So I need to know what a "big" can of soup is. Bigger than 15 oz. Can I just use 2 regular cans?

I will definitely try this asap. Your Mexican Pasta is a huge winner in this house!

Love that crockpot...but a question: if my meat is not frozen, should I just cook it for less period of time?

I'm printing this recipe as I type. I can't wait to try it out. I remember someone bringing over a meal like this when I was little and my mom had just had surgery. I've always wondered how to make it. THANKS!!!

I make something similar in the oven with a roast - and serve over rice. Noodles sound great though, I am thawing some deer steaks to chop up and make this tonight! This will be great, lots of time to sew today, hehe :)

This is in my crockpot as we 'speak', can't wait to try it. I did add mushrooms, cuz I love them - if the mister and kid don't want them, they can pick them out, lol.

I set this up in the crock pot this morning. It looked so good going in and I can't wait to get home for dinner. I made it sans mushrooms too, but only because I didn't have any on hand. I'm thinking about adding asparagus as a side.

Do you have anymore crock pot favorites? I'm all about the crock pot dinners from now until April 15th!

Yum, I've made this twice since you posted it. I couldn't remember where I saw the recipe but the ingredients were so simple I winged it. I forgot to add the water and at the end I stirred in a dollop of sour cream. It was SOOOOOO good! So glad I stumbled on it again, this time I'm book marking it.

I made this for my family for dinner tonight. They loved it! My husband said it was a "homerun meal" and it has already been added to our regular meal rotation.

I'd like to post this on my blog. Is it alright if I use your photo? I will not repost the recipe but instead post your photo and a link to this post on your blog.

So you add the COOKED egg noodles to the ingredients at the very beginning and it all cooks for 6 hours? The noodles don't get gooey? And I'm with another commenter - what do you consider a big can of cream of chicken soup? Might be easier for us "I read too much into instructions people" if you had told us how many ounces. Yeah, sadly, we do exist (smile).

And what if our beef stew meat isn't frozen? Can't wait for the answers. I love crockpot recipes - they make life so much easier, don't they?

That is sooo funny! In my house it's the Mrs. that wants 'em and the Mr. who don't. I guess in either case nobody's gettin' mushrooms!
