Well my living room is PANELING - BROWN UGLY PANELING - but if I was to paint it, it would be a nice light green - real green not lime, not chartreuse but green grass color only light :) I really love the Green Tea color.

Judith said...

My living room is in a colour called Pointing which is an off white that goes slightly into grey/green and that is what I would always paint it again.

I love your grey idea, but I'm leaningmore toward a warm brown suede...I' d accent it with a bashful blue....

We are getting ready to paint in May, the whole house. Light tan for several rooms including the front room.
I also like Peeps along with any good choclate.

I like the color we have now - a nice taupe color - but it desperately needs to painted again. Anyone up for climbing on a ladder??

Thanks for the giveaway!!

I would like a dark tan with white woodwork....ours is 1970's stained wood. I also hear that there are now chocolate dipped Peeps this Easter. I would love that because I love chocolate covered marshmallows!

We have just recently repainted a rich brown color with white accents. I love it!

I would also paint my living room grey...my new favorite. I recently replaced my curtains with a charcoal grey! However painting will just have to wait.

Candace said...

We are planning to paint our living room a bold red. Which isn't much different from the colour it is now :) The previous owners picked some dingy colours and we want to make our house even bolder and brighter with the new pine floors.

JustPlainLaine said...

I would paint my living room light grey with a red accent wall! Thanks for being part of the Hop!

Dawn said...

I would love to paint my living room a nice aqua or sky blue, something happy but not too bright. Of course, then I'd have to make curtains and a bunch of pillows to coordinate!

This looks like awesome software. I'm just getting up the courage to paint my living room . . . the color is called "wheat bread" . . . because I'm so done with the golden yellow color that is there now. Thanks for the chance.

I WILL be painting soon, every room in our new house...and my kitchen will most likely be Peaceful Night by Behr. It's a rich midnight blue to go with my old Americana decor. :)

This quilt album may be just what I need. I just reached my max on flikr without having to pay for the account. Actually, my living room is already the color in your post, which I love, but I want to replace the 1 x 4" wood trim with some nice crown molding.

Jodie said...

If I could just take over and make it more girly looking I would def. go with the Aqua color that is in the Bliss fabric line. Then I would have a fun red sofa with pillows made all from Bliss Fabric. But instead it is more tan with some green accents, but I am getting ready to sew a few pillows to spring it up!

Elizabeth said...

I've been debating the color of my living room since I moved in almost 7 years ago! If I had more natural light, I'd love to go with dark blue or navy for something cozy.

Kathy R. said...

MY living room is in desperate need of painting. I would love a pale buttery yellow with white bead board on the ceiling. The room needs a lot of brightening up. Quilt Album sounds like interesting software. Thanks for the chance. I love Peeps too. Have you tried the chocolate covered ones?

I've been trying to pick a color for a year now! But grey seems to be a color that keeps pulling me, so probably something similar to the one you chose. Only I have brown paneling to paint, so it'll have some kind of vertical lines to it.

I'd paint my living room this wonderful silver green color I saw in a home about 10 years ago. It danced with light and was both warm and cool at the same time. I've misplaced the paint color and company, senior moments started a long time ago!

I guess I'm boring. I'd paint my living room vanilla. I like the natural light that fills the room. The software looks cool.

Our living room was recently painted Sherwin Williams Halcyon Green and I love it! The question is: "What color to paint the dining room?" Gold or red? I agonize over these decisions...

I would go for a very light taupe. Taupe seems to be a good neutral for everything.

P>S I have to agree with you on the flip-flops....enjoy your day.

I totally recognized your poster want as I am a big Friends fan too! :)

I'm on a springy light turquoise kick at the moment, so if I was daring enough to do some color in my living room, I might like to give that a go!

Naomi said...

Coincidentally I'd also paint mine grey, a medium tone grey, at least on my one full one wall & maybe a lighter grey on the others. Right now it's boring builder's beige. Non-descript. Which I loved when I first painted it on there but now I'm bored of it 2 yrs later.

momma said...

I wouldn't paint it, hope I never have to, I love the color, it's a dusty sage/ lambs ears green. I have no idea what color it is, as it was painted when we bought the house, BUT it is the same color as our favorite room, that we did paint back in England before we moved to NC. I think that's when you know that's your color.

VickiT said...

How funny about the Peeps. Does anyone like them right off the shelf? I buy them and open the packages letting them sit a few days or week until they are "stale" before I'll eat them. They're so good that way. Never have tried freezing them.

If I were to paint my living room right now (and WOW does it need to be painted) it would be one of two colors; Frosty Morning WB620 or Shell Brook 690E1 both from Behr. They are both a shade of white with varying depths of purple tinted into them. I have VERY ugly Smurf blue walls right now. WHY I painted them that color when I bought this house I have NO idea. ICKY!

Deb said...

I've been reading all the comments. Great ideas, which I may have to use for my living room after I tear off wallpaper. I'm thinking navy blue accent wall with the other walls a warm, light tan.

Rebecca said...

I'd go with a warm, buttery yellow for the living room walls! Maybe someday :)

My living room is the color I want! It's Olympic's Plantation Moss...a really really light green/gray/white color that changes with the light.

Erika from Austria

~Michelle~ said...

My living room will always be pretty muted... currently Navajo white (which is a cream), but I could go gray. The accent furniture is black, the comfy furniture is a light blue, so walls need to be a soft neutral, IMHO (which is now a real word, BTW).

JuliePickles said...

My living room has either been a shade of green or tan for years, I need some color! I was thinking about going with aqua next time. Last time I painted I was not a quilter, I need some colorful walls and furniture to go with my colorful quilts now! Of course I did just paint my bedroom gray and the colors really pop against that so I might have to go that route too!

Heather said...

I'm all over the grey too. When I was looking at color last fall, that's what I gravitated to. My bedroom is a lovely shade of grey called Elephant's Ear from Benjamin Moore. It's so soft and relaxing.

We just took off all the wood paneling in my living room so we're trying to pick a color. I like a light pumpkin color my husband is leaning towards a tan or cream. Thanks for the great offer!

Kate said...

I wouldn't - is that an acceptable answer? ;) Our living room is a lovely light cappuccino color that's very warm and homey. And also very neutral for when we need to sell it next year. I actually wrote down the name of the color because I'd want to paint future living rooms this color.

Sus Blom said...

White or a creamy color.

Beth said...

Well...you have asked the question of the year. I grew up with "eggshell white" walls, which we have in our house now. I think of them as soothing and a neutral background for anything we might hang on them. My sweetheart thinks they are boring. We will be painting. I'm moving toward a soft tan or a warm gray, but he-with-the-other-vote keeps nominating colors so bright and energetic that I might never be able to close my eyes in our house again.

Thanks for the giveaway, and thanks a lot (unsure whether I'm being sarcastic..) for introducing me to something else I'd love to have!

The One and Only said...

Ok, wierd, posted my comment but blogger is trippin....

I would paint my living room the same color as the family room which is some sort of tannish color I had picked out....but unfortunately the living room/dining room area has two and a half story vaulted ceilings, which means either hiring someone or getting scaffolding....not at this present moment!!!

Gosh I'm so boring!! I love that my whole house is cream.. I LOVE that about this house.. Well I tried my hand at wallpapering no later than last year so I wouldn't paint my living room again, especially as I still haven't done the curtains to go with the new paper. Bought the fabric for the curtains first and then spent so much trying to persuade hubby that the whole room needed redoing and the curtains are still not done.... well when I'll have some time. Anyway it is currently a difficult to describe colour, I would try tan with light silver motifs.

Sandi Linn Andersen said...

Since our home is just four years old, I'm not going to paint now. In fact, the living room is painted a white that has a blue gray tinge and the room is empty because.......new furniture is what is going to add the color to the room and then quilts and artwork on the walls! Right now the room is a blank canvas. I got the call yesterday that our furniture has arrived and I can hardly wait for it to be delivered. Our previous furniture has been with us since 1985 and is now relegated to the basement although our adult son and daughter have both offered to burn it for me. :-) Since my husband loves it "comfortability", I am fine with it as long as it stays in the basement. LOL!
I love the idea of Quilt Album software and can certainly use it!

Neat poster. Not a TV addict, so never saw it before. I am opting for a Pale Rose for my living room.
Thanks for the give-away.

I'd love to paint my living room a nice, warm cranberry :)

That program looks SO fun! Not for sure about the paint color...I would love to go bold but my walls are forever tall so I would/will probably go medium boring tan/khaki. LOVE gray though :)

My walls are all off white but I wish I had some accent walls. I would paint the accent wall in the living room a mustard color.

I'd paint my room a soft sunny yellow which to me is a happy color.

Funny you should ask - we have just purchased a house, after living in an RV for the last 5 years, and we are painting the living room next - one wall is to be a medium spruce (bluish green), and the other 3 are to be the same buttercreme as the rest of the house. Cannot WAIT! Bathroom (I know you didn't ask, but I'm excited) is to be spa-zen aqua & white. whoohooo!

Behr has a great color called Moonstruck. It is a cream/ecru shade without the pink of beige. I like using a soft neutral in the living room. I can change the rest of the decor with the seasons without having to re-paint.

I would love to paint my living room a soft gray with a hint of blue!

I would paint our living room a soft suede taupe color that coordinates with my new furniture...if you find the perfect color let me know!! :)

I love sage green!

I would paint my living room an off white color. That way I can mix up the other colors in the room anyway I want.

Vicky P said...

We are thinking of painting it in a suede pattern using a creme or a light tan.

I think you are right on with gray color. I would use a gray with either a pale blue or pale green tint to it. PS, Peeps are a staple around here, but chocolate covered marshmallow is my all time favorite Easter candy. Last fabric was Bliss.

Pale turquoise.
Yes, it would have to be pale turquoise.
Boy would my bright red chair POP!!!

Oh, and you can have my peeps too.

Granite Boulder by Behr!!!! So excited!!!

I'd stick with an eggshell white that I have now. I have 3yr old twins that like to...umm...share their artwork and the walls have a tendency to be their canvas.

I'd start with a background of tan...add accent wall of burnt orange with the entry wall of a dark, lucious chocolate brown

Hola! Cordialmente,

I just called in a decorator to help me chose a colour for our whole main floor which is a boring beige now. The Quilter's album sounds amazing

I am boring, I paint my walls a sandy white shade, lol.
I hang a lot of my art pieces and quilts, so I like to keep them simple, so nothing contrasts. I am going for the shaker look I guess, wood and white.

What a great giveaway! I need a new coat of paint in my living room and would love to brighten it up in there, but haven't decided yet. Probably something creamy.

Cherie said...

I would paint mine grey, too, and then decorate with aqua and lime green :)

Fun answers to the questionnaire, Rachel! I was just thinking about the painting thing the other day. Now we have a light peach on the walls, but next time I'd like to paint each wall a different color! Something from the orange family, Something from the green family, and who knows. Thanks for counting me in.

Thimbleanna said...

Those were some fun answers Rachel! I've been pretty happy with my living room color (which was painted before my time here), so I'd just repaint it blue. Thanks for hosting the giveaway!

Right now it is a very light yellow..buttery...but I would love to paint it a few shades darker, just to warm it up, as it is so light right now that you just don't know it is yellow at all unless you saw me with the paint can!!! =)

Ohmygeez! Almost everyone said brown/tan/khaki!!! No thank you!!!! My living room would be a super crisp celery green (sounds weird, but the actual color I have picked out is so georgeous! And it would have wide horizontal stripes of a deep chocolate brown...pretty!

I did paint my living room a deep golden yellow color and I love it. It feels warm any time of the day. That said, don't ask my husband how many shades of yellow went on the walls until we found the right one.

my favorite easter candy is the good chocolate covered marshmallow eggs. my favorite candy period.

i would like to completely redo my living room......new couch, chairs, tables, lamps. the carpet stays, it is too new to change. it is a deep plum and the curtains match. i would like to introduce more blue, but probably the trim. i like to keep the walls light neutral because there isn't much wall space and it opens up the room. i would probably paint it an egg shell or other light color. i know BORING..but i put the zing in with accessories.

My living room has already been 2 colors: a light green/brown depending on the light, and currently a deep brown with red undertones. I would love to paint it a rich gray/brown, I think Benjamin Moore has the color and its called sparrow. Its beautiful! My only challenge is convincing the hubby on round three!

Donna said...

I'd love a copy of QuiltAlbum! My walls REALLY need a coat of paint. I'd go with a dark tan with white trim.

Quilting_Chris said...

When we re-painted our rooms the living room went Swiss Coffee, with White Linen trim. The ceiling is a very soft white, white to make it look like it is floating.

Ummm, frozen peeps are the best. I am going to keep an eye open for chocolate dipped peeps.

we're getting ready to start painting all the rooms in our house too. I think that we might go with a swiss coffee color. kind of boring huh

Grammasheri said...

I am in the process of choosing paint for my great room, and am leaning toward a softened palette of warm tan with caramel and sage green accents. Good southwest colors.

The Kaonohi's said...

I am loving the gray idea. So in right now and goes with so many things.

Unknown said...

Ours is currently panelled (the good knotty pine stuff but still...) so it's kind of dark. I think I'd go with a nice kona ash type pale gray with bright white trim.
