nice to see you again so soon!
(a promise is a promise!)
so today, i'm participating in a fun blog hop sponsored by our good friends over at fat quarter shop.
they contacted me a few weeks ago, and told me all about their newest YouTube video, sundance dresden pillow.
i was asked if i wanted to join along, and of course, i said, "yes!"
i chose cotton + steel basics are my fabrics, and i'm pretty darn happy that i did!
to be 100% honest, i'm supposed to be showing y'all a completed pillow, but as you can see, it's not a pillow.
why? well, because i love it so much, that i couldn't decide if i wanted to finish the pillow or make a mini quilt for my wall!
see, that's where y'all come in!
let's take a vote!
pillow or mini quilt?
remember about 4 years ago when i told y'all that i wasn't cool enough to make dresden plates?
in case you weren't around then, just know this, i've been scared of them for years. seriously!
i was really freaking out about making a dresden, let alone a double dresden.
BUT now, i'm pretty darn proud of myself that i made my first one.
and i can totally see how people get addicted to making them!
kim's video made it such an easy process! (thanks, kim!)
if y'all wanna make your own pillow (or mini quilt) here's everything you need to know to get yourself going!

Pillow. I do NOT understand mini quilts.
You still have readers!!! Welcome back. YAY!!! I was laying under my layer cake squares quilt last night and thinking how much I miss quilt alongs. At least on blogs. One of my seams is coming apart though because I keep washing it because I use it outside. Oops. At least there is a fabric layer under and it is quilted well.
I love seeing your blog posts again! Your dresden is beautiful. I kind of like it as a mini quilt, but it would be a great pillow too - the fabric choices are really lovely. Enjoy it, however it finishes up!
Totally a mini quilt. It is a beautiful piece. Love your fabric/ color choices.
either one would be awesome! I'm a fan of mini quilts and pillows both! (I'm a big help, aren't I?)
So. Glad. You're. Back!!! Tough decision. I'm thinking first choice, pillow. Second choice, wall hanging. Looking forward to seeing what you decide and seeing the finished product.
I love the idea of a miniquilt! I have to admit, a pillow would also be nice...
If you make it into a mini, it will look beautiful on your wall, if you make it into a pillow, it may not stay looking so pretty. All of our couch pillows get used so much that may be the case with that gorgeous gem too. Just sayin!
Both would be amazing but my first choice would be a mini quilt:-)
Oh I love your version of this pattern!! It is sensational. Make a pillow I say.
Love it!! I vote mini quilt. ;)
That is a beautiful block! A mini quilt would be beautiful.
Definitely a mini quilt! I would want this up on a wall where I could see it unobstructed. :-)
Pillow will really show off a stand-alone design. Great job!
With your talent for angles and quilt making, I am surprised you were intimidated by a Dresdin. Your quilts are SO Amazing I'm afraid to try any of them!! Your Dresdin is wonderful! I love the way you did the opposite on the second part. It's beautiful! You make whatever you need, a pillow or a mini! Surprise us!! Thank you for all your inspirations. I have admired you a long while!
