welcome to the quilty fun sew along & blog tour. :)
it's brought to us by the lovely lori holt.
and guys, it's SO dang cute.
seriously.
(see the full line up HERE.)
today, we're going to talk about courthouse steps.
l o v e.
here are the fabrics that i pulled.
l o v e again.
in honor of lori, i had to embrace my fun, scrappy fabrics.
say yes!
download the courthouse companion pdf here, then turn to page 90 because we're about to make courthouse steps blocks.
they are so quick & easy to make.
like less than half an hour, people.
no kidding.
adorable, right?!?!
me thinks yes!
and they just so happen to match my kitchen.
note: our kitchen is about to get a fresh coat of yummy natural almond behr paint. sigh.
although these are slated to go into my own quilty fun quilt, i really want to make another set just like this.
why?
well, because i want an adorable mug rug!
wouldn't that be SUPER cute?!?!
once y'all have the blocks sewn, post photos to the quilty fun sew along & blog tour flickr group for a chance to win one of THREE omnigrid marking ruler trios.
to see lori demonstrate these rulers, check out this video!
winners will be announced next monday on the jolly jabber.
also, i think i have a mad crush on lori holt. and her house. for real.
two words: aqua piano. ;)

Hi Rachel…
You are so sweet! Thank you for your kind words about my book:) …
and thanks so much for hosting week 3!
I love your plates and your blocks together. Cute photo!
xx
Lori
PS. happy that you like my aqua piano too:)
YES, the courthouse steps went together pretty easy. I usually have trouble with Log Cabins so I stay away from blocks like them. Glad there was only TWO for this quilt. Hope the rulers come home to my house.
Love your courthouse step blocks! Love the idea of making mug rugs with them and I am loving making them, I just may make them to the moon and back :)
Happy day everyone!
I can't wait to get started. I have a crush on her house too, it's the cutest place I've ever seen!
I am off to sew these today...I love them too :) hugs Vicki x
OMG I love her wonderful bright house too! She has an eye for color forsure!!
I do a lot of paper piecing and I heard these rulers are great for marking the 1/4 mark on your paper piecing projects. Right now I'm working on the box pouch from the book Patchwork Please and I would love to have a set of these rulers to make things go faster and smoother!
Thanks for the chance, Jessica

I want to do some courthouse steps! Your's are gorgeous!
love your blog :)
You are just chock 'ful of wonderful ideas and helpful hints on quilts that are not just easier (for us newbies) but beautiful as well....
thanks :)
One of my favorite stuff to deal with in the field of sewing is quilting, well for me its the easiest way to emphasize your thoughts by means of different creative details and designs. In quilting mixing different color can turn out really great specially if the colors you chose blend well together.
