Cotton Couture...such a soft hand, beautiful colors and I use many many solids! My go to color is either the light gray or black!
Bella "Home Town Sky" is my favourite colour. I've mixed it with modern prints and traditional prints and it looks great with both.
Okay -- so this will sounds totally wierd, especially since I hate brown, but my most often used semi-solid is Hoffman 1895 Havana. It gets used for binding ALL THE TIME. Not sure why, not sure how, it just happens.
White. Followed by off white. Followed by silvery grey. Yeah, buy those by the bolt and freak out when there is less than about 5 yards left.
Kona Artichoke. It is the absolutely best green ever- not too yellow, not too brown. It works as a colour and as a neutral. I feel like painting my house in Artichoke!
Robert Kaufman cotton lawn--in white, ivory, grey or black. It is the softest, silkiest thing ever.
I love Bella Mustard at the moment - could change in a few minutes. Okay, slate too.
White and Kona medium grey. I by them both by the 8-12 yards at a time whenever there are good sales as I constantly churn through them. I should probably just look into buying whole bolts. :)
I use a lot of various grays, both Kona & Moda Bella, but my all time favorite is Kona Cerise
kona ash for sure...followed by white kona
My go to is Kona Snow (white-ish), then Kona Ash (lt. grey) both are workhorses. :)
I like Kona ash and charcoal solids. They go with everything in a cool i'm not white or black sort of way :)
I have three solids that are always in my stash, sometimes by the bolt full. 1) Bella porcelain 2) Bella White Bleached 3)Bella Country Red. I try never ever to be out of these!
Bella feather...it's almost white, but without that bluish glow that you get with true white...and it leans toward gray instead of cream...so hard to describe but I can't live without it:)
I'm a Kona girl all the way because it's the easiest to find in my local shops so it's easier to find a color if I run out.
I always have masses of Snow, Ash, and, lately, Berry.
Besides white or snow I must have orange! Lots and lots of pumpkin orange, bright orange, orange marbles etc.
Tangerine by Kona cotton, every quilt must have some orange in it for good luck, have you heard this too?
Kona Snow because it goes so well with my 30's repros and doesn't look yellow. It's hard to find around here, too!

I have not ventured to far with solids yet. I want to, but I need to take the first big step. I use a ton of Kona White. Just love it!!
I use a lots of Kona White in my quilts, so that's the one that makes me nervous when I get low... :)
Lately I've been using the Michael Miller Cotton Coutures, also, with Raspberry and Stone being my favorites. These are so soft, so I love the way they feel. The jury is still out, though, as to whether or not I like quilting with them.... they're awfully thin. I think what I've decided is that they're great to use with other Michael Miller prints, like Sarah Jane's fabrics, but pair them with Kona solids and it doesn't work so well. Just my two cents!
I probably use more white, cream and aqua than any other solids.
I prefer Moda Bella over Kona, just think it feels nicer, BUT I can't live without Kona Ash, it can be a warm color and a cool color, it goes with everything, there is just no other grey quite like it! In fact when I was painting my house I took a bolt of it in to the paint shop and had them match it and painted my whole house that color :)
Kona snow and ash used to be my go to solid but now I am using a lot of Kona lake and charcoal.
I always have Kona snow and ash on hand. Those two go with just about everything!
I love kona medium grey. Grey is one of my fav background colors.
I like Kona solids alot, although I have to admit that I use muslin as a substitute for a white solid more than I should!
As for colored solids, Kona lake is my favorite.
Kona grays...especially Coal. I have a bolt of that in the stash, well it was a full bolt💗🐰💗

Grass Green. I think that is the official Moda colour name. I dislike that Moda lists only the number code, not the name on the Bella bolts. I think in Kona it is called Peridot. I adore that colour.
kona black! can't live without it. can't quilt without it either!
I really like the colors of Kona Steel and Iron, they are such lovely shades and look great together--a light medium and dark medium. So far I haven't purchased large amounts of either, but I just might!
I <3 Bella Mustard! 9900 213 :)
There is always a bolt (yes bolt) of Kona White and Kona Black!
I love Kona White and Kona Iron. Iron is a beautiful shade of gray that goes with everything! Can't quilt without them!!
-Kelly @ My Quilt Infatuation
I love Kona snow - it goes with everything and is just that bit less bright than white.
I love Kona Solids, especially since I can get it at Joann's and always can use a 40% off coupon. I always get some type of white, black and grey....love those colors!!
Not one I use alot, but I've had some real fun using Northcott Colorworks in Pearl next to white.
Can change very quickly - fickle old me! Keep coming back to white though!
Kona snow, bone and ash. I keep at least 5 yards of each on hand all the time.
Of all things, I love the natural coloured, 60" wide 'muslin' that I picked up at ikea. (Why didn't I but the whole bolt before it was discontinued?!?). At about $2 per meter, and the same weight as quilt shop cotton, how can you go wrong?
Sarah
Honestly I have no idea of the company, but i have a "paper bag" tan that I have bought more than once and I like to have it as a neutral.
Kona Ash!
Kona white is my go to solid.
Kona Cactus - the perfect green!
This year it has been Kona white.. mostly used as background fabric and backings for my scrappy quilts.
I love Kona Snow and Ash..they go with most everything for a background fabric!!
Love Kona Snow and Black. Love the contrast, but any solid is useful when the design calls for it. Love aquas and black together.
Kona snow and bella feather are my go to fabrics I buy by the bolt.
I love all the Kona Cotton yellows! Reminds me of sunshine, summer and my mom.
I haven't really gotten into solids a whole lot. Mostly just white.
Kona snow and ash for neutrals and Kona tarragon for color.
I prefer Bella solids because I love the way they feel and I can also purchase them at my local quilt shop. I am in love with the silver, gray, aqua, and bleached white!
You're going to think I'm nuts, but my favorite fabric to always have on hand (quilting is not my primary hobby - but sewing pillows and other pretties as well as garments are) is Osnaburg in Natural. It has a more rustic look than linen, and more texture than muslin. It's great for a lot of the Zakka style sewing I do.
I love Kona cottons the best and have found that mostly I will use Ash or Coal for the background. Love them both.
Bella Solids white is also my go-to color. It has a nice hand.
I know this is boring - but I must have Kona Snow at all times. Runners up are Kona White, Med Grey and Black. I actually get anxiety when I run out.
I just recently discovered these solids and white has been my go-to. I have 3 bolts of it on my fabric shelf now. I seem to lean towards a lot of blues so I would love to get a few different shades.
I've only ever used Kona solids because that's what is available localy. I've been hearing more and more about bella solids and I would like to try them as I'm not overly impressed with Kona, seems to ravel bad and the texture is not consistent between colors.
Bella solids black is my go-to. I love the way colors pop off black and I tend to work in brighter colors that can overwhelm my eyeballs if they're not toned down a bit (sounds weird, I know, but I'll own it)
I like to have Bella Bleached handy - use it for tons of things, including stitchery. I use both Moda and Kona solids on a regular basis and keep a nice selection on my shelves
Bella Solids by Moda Silver. It brings out bright colors wonderfully!
Bella solids snow is my favorite. It's my go to background. I did order some of the shades of grey. Then when I got the fabrics I'm not sure how or where to use it. I'm sure I will think of something.
I usually use Kona bone, but having bought alot of 30's fabric I'll try Kona snow, after having read the comments!
Black and white are my most purchased but Kona Robin Egg Blue is my favourite at the moment, I'm waiting for some more to arrive so that I can bind a quilt with it. :o)
Kona Snow, for so many projects, I need to keep it at hand.
cheers

What a wonderful post! Looks like Kona is preferred over Moda. I am a new quilter, so I enjoy reading what everyone is using! Thanks again. Oh, right now, my favorite is Moda Peony. Just finished a babty quilt using it.
I love the bella white solids too! I need it for EVERYTHING!
Kona snow and ash, not much of a surprise. The one I use most, though, is Kona navy. Nearly every print looks good with it, but its not as stark as black.
Kona Snow
Kona Snow
I really like Kona Maize. A lovely soft yellow. I also love Moda bella bleached white (I think its 97). I buy all of my stuff on line so it can be a gamble. One day I will buy a colour card but which one!
I am in your camp with the Moda Bella white, although Bella snow runs a close second!
My favorite solid that I find myself using more and more is Kona Snow. I wish I had a whole bolt of it because it is a perfect background in so many of my projects.
I buy Bella Snow by the bolt as well as Zen Grey 9900-185. My other cuts are 5+ yards of 3 Sisters Pink 9900-145 and Mist 9900-37. I love Bella for its ease of hand sewing and stitchery, the needle just glides through the fabric.
Bella White Bleached by Moda seems to make an appearance in nearly every quilt I've made. I just picked up my Bella Solids swatch book (next to me on the floor by the computer!) to make sure I got the name right. I get the name confused with Bella Bleached White PFD, but I like the white white.
I love Kona's Honeydew 21. It has become a neutral for me in several quilts. Great discussion.
I've been using tons of kona natural lately. I finally bought an entire bolt...just to be safe!
yeah, I agree with lots of the other posts. White and black. Really those are my only staple solids, sometimes I'll buy what I call a semi-solid like a marble or a wash in a colour for a binding or a sashing, but my fave is Kona black. Always buy it in large quantities because bolt to bolt it can vary a degree. Black is not always black is not always black!!
Have a super weekend!
