Strawberry shortcake, made with fresh strawberries from the garden (mixed with a touch of sugar to bring out the juice), on angel food cake with homemade whipped cream (cream with a splash of vanilla and powdered sugar to taste). I'm drooling just thinking about it.

homemade pesto, made from basil grown on my porch. Nothing better! Love it on pasta, of course, thinned down for salad dressing, on sandwiches, a spoonful on grilled fish or chicken-- oh, yumm! And something with fresh berries for dessert. Perfect summer meals.

Watermelon...cold, right from the fridge. Watermelon just doesn't taste "right" if it's not summer-ripe. Loving your fabric and quilts...this fabric makes me think of summer too!

Sorbet! I found yummy fruit sorbets at Costco last summer, they were frozen in fruit shells... the pineapple sorbet and coconut sorbet served in a coconut shell made me think I was on a tropical beach somewhere! :)

Oh I haven't had this in forever...BDI (shout out to Winnipeg!!!) had wonderful frozen bananas on a stick, dipped in chocolate and rolled in nuts. Oh YUM!! Perfect for those that can't indulge with lactose-filled ice cream treats.

Love this line...it just begs to be made into something that will shine.

My favorite summer treat is the chocolate soft serve ice cream from Dairy Queen. They only serve it during the summer months and it's so creamy and yummy.

Such a cute mix of colors/prints! I have a standard soft-ice cream order - twist (vanilla-chocolate) cone with chocolate sprinkles, please. The seasonal stands have opened - yay! But my really really favorite is fresh strawberries - cannot wait for them to come in locally!

I would say watermelon...but the hubby and I have decided that that is the one thing I'm allowed to splurge on all year round. Yay!

Funnel cakes is my answer...takes me back to when I was a kid. Yummy!

Beautiful fabric line! But my favorite summer treat would have to be a nice, home-grown tomato. I just planted 9 different varieties of tomato plants! The salsa made from home-grown tomatoes is divine!

There is a local hamburger joint in town that has been here forever. Their hamburgers are allright but they make these popsicles called Astro bars that are amazing. My favorite flavors are peach and lime. The sun finally came out today so I think I will go pick up a dozen.

How about homegrown strawberries picked right off the vine, rinsed with the hose and eaten still warm from the sun? Oh yeah, that's summer! Of course all this is done with a pack of giggling kids dripping strawberry juice down their chins!

Watermelon salad. Watermelon, feta cheese, red onion sliced thinly, good quality balsamic vinegar. I know it sounds gross, but it is delish!

The best is a Nutty Bar from Historic Arnold's Park (Arnold's Park, IA). Ice cream rolled in chocolate, dipped in peanuts and plunked on a stick. YUM!

Fresh, delicious, grown outside (not in a greenhouse when they only taste of water).
Then you don't really need cream.

1. chocolate italian ice cream
2. very cold glass of milk (i'm sorry, but i love it)
3. strawberries
4. Granny Smith apples

6. And the list can get longer and longer :-) LOL

I love concretes from the local ice cream place. They have one called "Muddy Sneakers" which is cashews and chocolate shell in a vanilla frozen custard, with cashews and hard shell on top. YUMMY!

I love strawberry shortcake. Fresh local strawberries, washed, cut up, some sugar to make them juicy - a soft warm and slightly sweet shortcake (biscuit) cut in two with cool strawberries placed between the halved biscuit, more strawberries drizzled on the top and THEN a large dollop of sweet cold whipped cream. YUM!

My all time favourite is ABC = Air Batu Campur (Malay/Malaysian language). It's something like snow cone but in a bowl with scrumptious toppings like syrup, sweet corn, kidney beans, jellys, ice cream & more !!!! Yummy !!!
