yayyy!!!
here are the instructions for block four!!!
this might be my 2nd fav pinwheel block ever.
i guess it can be an open debate on if it's a pinwheel or windmill.
you say potato, i say potahto.
*wink*
yall will need:
four 3 7/8" x 3 7/8" squares of focal print fabric {mine=red}
four 3 7/8" x 3 7/8" squares of solid fabric {mine=cream}
four 6 1/2" x 3 1/2" rectangles of solid fabric {mine=cream}
{pretend i was cool enough to take a pic of my hst blocks.}
using my hst tutorial, use your 3 7/8" squares to make 8 hst blocks.
take 2 hst blocks and one 6 1/2" x 3 1/2" rectangle to make a unit.
{as pictured.}
repeat to make 4 units total.
this is our block layout.
adorable, i know.
sew row one together, pressing seams to the right.
sew row two together, pressing seams to the left.
{this will ensure perfect seams.}
sew both rows together to construct your block.
oh how i heart this block.
now make one more block in a completely different color scale.
note: i obviously didn't use a different color scale.
i think i'm addicted to reds.
next week i vow not to use red.
promise.
so that's 8 blocks down. 8 to go.
yall still having fun???
i can't wait to start seeing all of yall's blocks show up in our flickr pool.

Oooohhhh ... I think this one's my favorite!
Thank you so much for doing this quilt along for us! I am loving it!
This one looks like fun! Can't wait till the little one goes down for her nap so I can make these!
I'm on the other side of the world and wait with anticipation on a Saturday for the next block to be posted. I'm loving it and so far am managing to keep up! I've not even got my mother, who is new to patchwork, interest in having a go. Thanks for another lovely block.
Yes, you are right! this is another very favorite block!!
I have NEVER done quilting before, but i have followed your blog for a while and wanted to try quilting for ages!
Thank you so much for the quilt along! I'm so impress with the results from your great instructions. Loads of love to you x
All of these blocks have been GREAT!!! I'm just curious...is there a reason that you prefer to use the 2 HST's rather than just doing a flying geese (or would it be goose??? LOL) unit for the "spokes" of the pinwheel? I'm sure that there probably is....I was just curious! :)
love this one!!
I think I'm going to have my bee group do this quilt along for me! How fun will that be? I love your quilt so much!
PS - I didn't drop off the face of the earth - just have a lot going on right now!
Thanks for the great tutorials. You have inspired me and II have been making pinwheels along with you. I think this just might be my favorite block.
Thanks for all of these tutorials. I find myself already eager for next weekend...to see what we will be sewing then!
I like this pinwheel shape but decided to make it "flying geese" style rather than with HST to have fewer seams (lazy me). It worked well. Thanks for another nice block. I am looking forward to the next one already.
Thank you so much for this - I've always been a bit too scared to try out anything other that squares with my quilting but you've inspired me to be brave!
Jo x
So crisp and beautiful, I always love a new "spin" on the pinwheel. Can't wait to follow to see more!
Love this block! Finished, blogged and entered in the flickr pool :D. Thanks Rachel. This is going to be one great pinwheel sampler.
it is so cool to know how to construct all this blocks, and with this tutorial I think that I will start sewing right away.,
I know l'm waaaaaay behind on this quilt, but has anyone else noticed that block 4 turned out smaller than all the others? I can't work out what l've done wrong - HELLLP!
