virtual retreat recap.

23 February 2009

this weekend was pat sloan's 'orange pile' vitural retreat.
{say that 5 times as fast as you can.}

basically a few weeks back she challenged us to find all the orange fabrics we owned.
i barely had enough to speak off.
{hence me & mandie's fabric shopping trip.}

well everything was pretty hushidy hush until friday.
and we all had a blast.
{and alot of orangeish foods. lol.}

we cheered each other on.
shared recipes.
had lots o' pic updates.
even some giveaways.

it was a great time.
i highly recommend a vitrual retreat.
seriously.

i'm not normally one to buy orange fabrics.
i mean, obviously i do in the fall, but you get my drift.

i'm SO happy that pat made me step out of the box.
because honestly this is turning out to be one of my fav quilts!!!

p.s. my bloggy pal vanessa is offically cooler than cool!!!
she made her debut appearance today at the moda bake shop!!!
go see her braided rag rug tutorial...and give her a hi-5!!!

Pin It!

What do you do at a virtual retreat...hang around your computer and sewing machine? Do you have times to check back in?

This is all so new to me!

Sorry it took me forever to sign it. I totally forgot my yahoo email address. It's ymail just in case I forget again! :) I signed in and voted.

But now that I think about it....I'm going to vote #1 cuz I won't have a sewing machine in august or address...oh I'm sure it will work out.

this moving thing is stressing me out and I still have 5 months to go!

Love your quilt so far!Looks so NOW! So pretty! Look forward to seeing it! I did with what I had that would pass for orange. Ha!No brights here in orange, do have some pinks and greens though!Was a fun easy block! Wonder what Miz Pat has up her bolt for the next one.
I will be buying some 'fresh and now' fab at quilt show this weekend and think I may order Arabella Fats!

i have to say that if you are quilting with orange fabrics (which i love to do!!!) it's pretty fun to have your snack and your soda match your quilt! :)

Great orange and blue fabric. How do you like sewing on your Viking Emerald 183?

My mom was just telling me the other day how I'm much more gutsy with orange than she is. Then I saw this post and had to laugh. My oranges were with red and yellow and black - not nearly as gutsy as you! Way to go! Love it!

Rachel! I love it! The colors are so bright and cheery and will certainly bring spring in a little quicker where you live!
